Delete your Court Diarys account

You can delete your Court Diarys account and everything in it at any time. You do not need to ask us, and you do not need to give a reason.

HOW TO DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT

In the Android app: open More, then Settings, then Delete account.

On the website: sign in at courtdiarys.com, open Settings, then Delete account.

Both routes do exactly the same thing. The app will show you how many cases, clients and documents will be erased before you confirm.

IF YOU CANNOT SIGN IN

Write to info@courtdiarys.com from the email address registered on the account, or from the mobile number registered on it. Tell us you want the account deleted. We will confirm it is you before we do anything, because an account holds other people's case papers and we will not erase it on an unverified request.

ONLY THE ACCOUNT OWNER CAN DELETE

If you were added to an office by someone else — as a Senior, Junior or Munshi — you cannot delete that office. Only the advocate who created the account can. You can ask them to remove you instead, which deletes your login without touching their cases.

THERE IS A SEVEN DAY WAIT

Nothing is erased on the day you ask. The account is scheduled for deletion seven days later, and it keeps working normally during those seven days. If you change your mind, sign in and cancel — the request disappears and nothing is lost.

This wait exists so that a mistaken tap, or someone using your unlocked phone, cannot destroy years of case records in a moment.

WHAT IS ERASED AFTER SEVEN DAYS

Your login, name, mobile number, email address and Bar Council number.

Every case, hearing, order note and next date.

Every client and their contact details.

Every document you uploaded. The files themselves are removed from storage, not merely unlinked.

Every task, payment record, invoice you raised on your own clients, bare act bookmark, court and custom list you added.

The logins of any Senior, Junior or Munshi you added to your office, and everything attached to them.

Your subscription.

This is permanent. We keep no backup copy of it for ourselves, and we cannot restore it for you afterwards. Export anything you want to keep before you confirm. On the website, Settings has a CSV export, and it is available on every plan including Free. The Android app does not export yet, so use the website for this.

WHAT WE KEEP, AND WHY

We keep the record of payments you made to us, and the tax invoices raised for them. Indian tax law requires a business to retain its GST records, and an issued tax invoice cannot be deleted or altered — a mistake on one is corrected by a credit note, never by erasing it.

Those documents carry the name, state and GSTIN that were on the invoice at the time it was raised. They are detached from your account, are not used for anything else, and no case, client or document data is kept with them.

HOW LONG IT TAKES

Seven days from your request. The deletion then runs automatically. If you asked us by email instead, we will confirm your identity first and the same seven day wait applies from the day we accept the request.
